On March 13, 2024, another meeting of the Learning Action Partnership was held. We had special online guests from the University of Lancashire – Prof. Cath Larkins and Prof Helen Beckett, who spoke about the European Child Guarantee and Social Protection Initiative and good practice in preventing child from sexual exploitation. Two other participants from the Partnership – school psychologist Anette Marinova and social pedagogue Iva Boneva – presented details about the recently developed handbook for preventing and dealing with school violence.
We are happy to be together for useful work once again as a group of professionals working on the prevention of sexual exploitation of children and related topics. School psychologist Annette Marinova shared some case studies from her practice and talked about the need to talk to students not only advising them, telling and punishing them, but to open a space for them to be heard. In this way, young people are positioned as equals in the dialogue, thus it is much easier to find a solution to the concrete case that satisfies both parties.
There is no way we can work with today’s children, who are almost completely immersed in digital, at school and at home, who find it increasingly difficult to find an answer to the question “who am I”… with methods and structures, which are outdated and do not work, she added.
We from Learning Action Partnership are a group of professionals that periodically meet and discuss news and good practices in our area of interest, now in its 11th year.
